Frequently Asked Questions

About Hemp and CBD Products

How is hemp different from marijuana?

“Marijuana” and “hemp” are coloquial labels for Cannabis sativa cultivars containing either high or low levels of THC.

Marijuana refers to cannabis that has been bred and selected for high levels of THC and total cannabinoids, while hemp refers to strains that have been bred for their fibers, seeds, or non-psychoactive cannabinoid resins.

Can I drug test positive from CBD?

Using CBD alone will NOT cause you to test positive for THC on a drug test. Most CBD products have zero-to-negligible (less than 0.3% by law) THC.

To fully ensure a THC-free testing experience, stick to isolate products over full-spectrum products any time you may encounter a test in the next 30 days.

Will CBD get me high or incapacitate me in any way?

THC is the only major cannabinoid known to create a psychoactive high, but the effects of different cannabinoids can vary widely, even by user and dose.

CBD is not known to cause any intoxicating effect, and has even been shown to counteract the intoxicating effects of THC in users. Users may experience a light drowsiness associated with CBD’s calming effect, so taking with discretion at appropriate times is encouraged.

How do I consume CBD?

The most common way to consume CBD is to ingest it, either directly in a tincture or in an edible commercial product such as gummies. CBD can also be rubbed in topically by way of lotions, oils and salves.

CBD can also be inhaled by burning hemp flower or vaporizing its oil, but these methods (especially smoking) are less common for non-marijuana users, who prefer more traditional delivery methods.

What is the difference between Full Spectrum and Isolate CBD?

Full spectrum products are made with hemp oils that contains all cannabinoids from the original plants in their original content ratios, including THC below 0.3% to keep in line with federal regulations for grown hemp and hemp products.

Isolate products use cannabinoids that have been chemically isolated into purified crystal form. One upside to these products for some working professionals is that their THC content is zero.
